Few editors know the game like Paul Older, and only few labels are consistently as cool as Slightly Transformed. Their release of Paul Older‘s Editlandia EP surely stopped the press here at the Discoholics Anonymous HQ.
I singled out Hu-Man which is a cunning rethinking of Brief Encounter’s ‘Human’.
Older re-emphasises the rhytmical qualities of the original and enhances them with spanking percussions and congas, and a solid kick to spiff things up.
Another twist, is that he’s ramps it up slightly and hence makes the smooth soul classic a solid dance floor sensation.
Consensus all around is, that Older succeeds in topping his very best work with this potent re-edit.
