Drop Out Orchestra needs no introduction. The two Swedes have been industry leading pioneers for decades, and Discoholics Anonoymous Recordings has been a steady output of their stunning work since its inception in 2020.
A whopping 15(!!) of the best reworks you’ll find ANYWHERE. Don’t sleep on this one!
Though now better-known for their nu-disco productions and commissioned remixes, Drop Out Orchestra originally made their name with some inspired ‘reworks’ – tracks that combine their own beats, basslines and musical elements with vocals and samples from more familiar songs. Some of those early-career highlights feature on this fine compilation, alongside plenty of previously unreleased tweaks. Highlights include the percussive disco explosion that is ‘Pretvac’ (an unlikely disco re-make of the Sex Pistols), the Latin disco heaviness of ‘Jingo’, the bluesy disco-jazz joy of ‘Praise’, the synth-heavy colour of ‘Pressure’ (a re-imagining of the Mylo classic of the same name), the low-slung dub disco brilliance of ‘Talking Loud’ (yep, a Talking Heads revision) and the Daft Punk-go-disco thrills of ‘Globetrotter’.
