The Russian rework legend V’s Edits is back with the fourth edition in his ongoing Reprecussions series.

Three new fully fledged reworks in a quality you rarely stumble upon.

V’s opens the outing with a magnificently groovy rework of Sly & The Family Stone’s “Everyday People” originally from 1968.
“Everyday People” by Sly and the Family Stone is a heartfelt plea for peace and equality, reflecting the band’s commitment to unity and integration. Sly Stone’s verses emphasize equality, while Rose Stone’s playful bridge mocks societal divisions. The chorus, with its unifying message “I am everyday people,” highlights the band’s inclusive philosophy.
V’s takes it to church, so to speak, with his gospel influenced take, which coincides nicely with the original track’s spirit.
This is V’s in classic form with a low frequency bass line and lots of bleeps and bloops with the song reshaped and stretched in a House music influenced structure. It works amazingly well, and all the fans of V’s previous releases will be ecstatic about this one.

The second track is Easy Going’s “Do It Again”. The band took its name from the eponymous Roman gay club, which opened in 1978 just a stone’s throw from Piazza Barberini, hidden on Via della Purificazione at number 9.

Doing It Again opens with gorgeously handcrafted percussions, which is fair to say for the whole series, but here you really hear V’s unique gift when it comes to handcrafting his sound.
Lingering more in the upbeat Funk and R’n’B universe this one has more of a late night vibe.
When the high octave 303 bass line is mixed in and the brass section is filtered in and out of the mix with ethereal madness, this one shines at its brightest for me.

With the third we’re taken back to church along with our black sisters and brothers as we praise the great mirrorball of life as V grapples and tussles with the enormous Jean Knight’s “(He Ain’t Nothing But) Dirt”.
Deep, wobbly bass line, enough percussions to make the dead dance and a warm, glowing vibe of positivity and significance.
Again you can’t deny the gospel influences as you feel the urge to raise your hand and give praise.

Reprecussions IV takes listeners on an extraordinary musical journey, showcasing V’s Edits’ exceptional talent through three masterful and beautifully crafted reworks.
Each track is a testament to V’s unique style, blending nostalgia with innovation, making this release a must-listen for fans and newcomers alike.
